Lok Chirag Sewa Sansthan is registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act 1860. The organization has come a long way since 1992 in serving the needy, oppressed and weak in three districts of Santal Parganas division – Jamtara, Deoghar and Dumka where tribals, Dalits and weaker sections of the society reside in the majority. The organization has been empowering the community through intervention, training and support. Many activities have been implemented in 206 villages in the district of Dumka, Deoghar and Jamtara consisting of 27 Gram Panchayat and 5 blocks to bring about awareness on social issues, unemployment, land alienation, and government welfare measures, skill development to the youth for self-employment in agriculture and allied activities and mini processing and production sectors.

When Lok Chirag Sewa Sansthan set up shop in the Santal Parganas division in 1992, the goal was to empower the community through intervention, training and support. Over the years, the organization has come a long way, reaching out to 206 villages in the district of Dumka, Deoghar and Jamtara. Through a range of activities, the Sansthan has helped improve the lives of countless people in the region.
One of the main areas of focus for the Lok Chirag Sewa Sansthan has been education. The organization has been working tirelessly to provide access to quality education to all, irrespective of caste or creed. This has helped break down barriers and given people in the region a chance to improve their lives.
The Sansthan has also been involved in a number of other initiatives, such as healthcare, livelihood support, and women’s empowerment. All of these activities have helped improve the standard of living for the people in the region.
